Drupal

The platform we build our portals on. Open source, license-free, backed by a dedicated security team and made for organizations with many editors and a lot of information.

Two ways to build on Drupal.

Native Drupal

Portals built on what Drupal does best: well-modeled content, per-team permissions, editorial workflows and several languages, using core and community modules instead of reinventing them.

  • Drupal 10 and 11, and upgrades from older versions
  • Pages built from blocks with Layout Paragraphs
  • Solr search with filters and suggestions
  • Institutional single sign-on (SAML, CAS and LDAP)
  • Translation management
  • Automatic migration from the old site

React

When part of a site needs more interactivity, we use React: rich components inside Drupal pages, or a separate front end that reads content from Drupal.

  • React components built into Drupal themes
  • Maps, filters and search that respond as you type
  • Decoupled front ends that read Drupal over JSON:API
  • The same content served to the site and to apps

Layout Paragraphs

An editor your team will enjoy using.

Pages are built with Layout Paragraphs. Instead of one huge text field, editors pick components, arrange them in sections and columns, and watch the page take shape as they work. No code, and no need to call the technical team.

  • Ready-made components: text, image, gallery, cards, accordion, video and map
  • One, two or three-column sections
  • Drag and drop to rearrange
  • Components look the way they will on the site
  • Accessibility warnings while you write
  • Revisions to go back to any earlier version

Specialists in migrating to Drupal.

We bring content from old sites, other CMSs, CRMs and databases into Drupal without losing images, links or history. The migration runs as many times as needed, so launch day has no surprises.

  • Drupal 7 and 8 to Drupal 10 and 11
  • WordPress, Joomla and custom-built CMSs
  • Contacts and data from CRMs, spreadsheets and databases
  • Files and internal links fixed with Tamper File Link Remap, a module we maintain
  • Redirects from old addresses, so you keep your visitors and search rankings
  • Repeatable migrations, tested before launch

Why we choose Drupal for the public sector.

Open source, no licenses

The code is yours. No license fees and no lock-in to one vendor.

Security

A dedicated security team publishes fixes, and we apply them on the sites we maintain.

Accessibility

Core follows WCAG, and we check accessibility while content is being edited.

Many languages

Content, menus and interface translated, with translation management for teams.

Ready for peaks

Caching, Solr and memcache to handle application day or an alert.

Many editors

Per-team permissions, review before publishing and scheduled publishing.
